Arthritis: Rheumatoid and Osteo
Over the past two years, I have studied many cases of Rheumatoid Arthritis. One chronic case I have in front of me shows natal Saturn in Capricorn in the 12th house (ruler of the 12th) square the Moon and semisquare the Sun. Symptoms began in 1987 at age 26 with a two-year build-up from tr. Pluto square Jupiter in the 12th house, tr. Saturn square Uranus ruler of the Ascendant, SA Ura=Asc, tr. Saturn conjunct the Sun and square Pluto, and finally tr. Pluto square the Ascendant in 1987.
Over and over again in cases of Rheumatoid Arthritis, there always seems to be difficult circumstances in the early home life with issues of profound self-devaluation (feeling diminished, limited, de-structured, lack of self-worth or inferiority feelings), with a nuance of reduced strength and power. This has also been proven in medical research over the past twenty years. It is usually an accumulation of these feelings over time that builds up to the point of physical breakdown (as is the case with Multiple Sclerosis although the conflict is a bit different). As well many clients with Rheumatoid Arthritis have corroborated physical or emotional abuse in the early home life. As is the case I have shared above, as well as having natal Pluto tightly square her Sun (parental stifling of power potentials) and square Mars ruler of the self-worth 2nd. In her horoscope, there is no contact between natal Saturn and Neptune, although Neptune squares the Ascendant and Jupiter in Aquarius in the 12th house, ruler of the 11th of feeling loved.
